Connecting Communities Through Health and Well Being at Middlesbrough Jobcentre East
During the event we engaged with twenty individuals, offering clear and accessible information about the role of Healthwatch and how it supports the local community. It also offered as a welcoming opportunity for people to share feedback and experiences of health and social care. The discussions highlighted the importance of accessible services, with many people sharing how difficult it can be to understand what help and support is available. A wide range of personal experiences were reflected, some spoke positively about the care they received, whilst others raised concerns about significant waiting times. Conversations also explored what more could be done to better support individuals while they are on the waiting lists.
We were also able to provide greater information, on the support and services available for those who may be struggling with mental health issues, individuals had been signposted to Teesside Mind’s services and were reminded of our information and signposting services. These engagements continue to display the vital need for providing accessible information to local communities.
