I would like to become a community champion because:

I’m full of admiration, knowing about all the many areas in which Healthwatch cover in order to help patients and people in the community.

They are provided with not just information, but also support and action in order to solve their health and care problems, thus  providing  positive  help.

I’m sure I would find it both satisfying and rewarding to be part of this team.

I think In my role as governor for the hospital, and also as a Therapeutic  Care Volunteer for 10 years,  goes towards helping people with their health and well-being.

In the past, I sometimes felt helpless when listening to patients worries, and concerns, as I felt unable to help them and didn’t know where to get answers from.

Now I know, thanks to Healthwatch.

A few years ago, I was asked by a member of Ageing Better ?  if I would voluntarily manage a Craft Class in the community for elderly and lonely people.

I said I would.

Our group meets every Wednesday and I’m told by some of the members that they look forward to it as that’s the only time they get out to meet people.

I ’m sure if they have any healthcare problems that Healthwatch will be able to help them.
