Whether you would like to register with a GP, or to change practice it is not as difficult as you might think. We have lots of helpful advice and links:

Register with a GP

Its important to know that you DO NOT need ID to register with a GP practice and you cannot be refused on these grounds.

Change GP

To compare GP’s you might want to take a look at the www.nhs.uk website where you can enter your postcode and it will show you all your nearest GP practices and reviews from patients.  Each GP practice also has their own website and you might want to take a look there to check things like the location, boundary, opening times and online services.

Register for online GP access so that you can book/cancel appointments, order prescriptions and view your medical record/test results

Registering for online access at your GP practice should be simple.  If you have any problems, speak to a member of staff at your GP practice.

We received intelligence through engagement activities and our Information & Signposting service that people were experiencing difficulties in making appointments at their GP surgeries.
We carried out a survey to find out if this was a wider issue and if additional work was needed. We held a public consultation alongside several focus groups.
