🌟 Honouring Cath: 52 Years of Dedication, Compassion, and Smiles

In every organisation, there are individuals who quietly become its heart and soul. For our practice, that person is Cath, who has been a beloved receptionist since 1974. For over five decades, Cath has been the friendly face that greets patients, the calm voice on the phone, and the reassuring presence that makes everyone feel welcome.

Cath’s warmth and kindness have made her a favourite among patients and staff alike. She never loses her patience, always wears a smile, and treats every person with genuine care and respect. Her love for the role shines through in every interaction, whether face-to-face or over the phone.

💪 Strength Through Adversity

The past few years have brought significant health challenges for Cath, including a cancer scare and multiple hospitalisations. Yet, through it all, she has remained resilient, positive, and committed to her work. Most people would have understandably stepped back—but not Cath. Her strength and determination are nothing short of inspiring.

Despite everything, she continues to show up with a smile, ready to support patients and colleagues alike. She is not just a receptionist—she is a friend, a confidante, and a beacon of positivity.

🏆 A Lifetime Achievement Worth Celebrating

In a time when long service is increasingly rare, Cath’s 52 years in the same role at the same practice is a remarkable achievement. Her loyalty, dedication, and unwavering spirit deserve recognition far beyond our walls.

As her manager, I am proud to nominate Cath for a Lifetime Achievement Award. Her contribution to our practice is immeasurable, and I truly believe that if every GP practice had a Cath at their front desk, the public perception of primary care would be transformed.

Cath is a credit to herself and to our practice. We are incredibly lucky to have her—and even luckier to have had her with us for over half a century.
