Why did you decide to become a Community Champion?

I decided to become a Champion because linking ethnic minority communities to Healthwatch South Tees is a great opportunity, especially when exchanging ideas and having conversations about health and wellbeing.

How does your role help people in South Tees?

Together Middlesbrough and Cleveland works with local communities, organisations, churches, and faith groups to help strengthen relationships, so that people can flourish and enjoy life in all its fullness.

My role is to map existing ethnic minority organisations, communities, residents, key stakeholders and their associated provisions.

I work alongside these organisations/groups to identify issues affecting them and identify gaps in provision. My vision is to create a coordinated partnership approach to explore solutions to the issues facing ethnic minority residents.
