Charlotte Regan - Health Development Officer

Why did you decide to become a Community Champion?

I decided to become a community champion as I think it is imperative that we provide a voice for people who may find it difficult to engage in health systems and access provision which can improve their wellbeing and to highlight the barriers people face day to day.

I hope being a champion will allow community members and professionals voices to be heard and impact on making progresses to services and eliminating barriers for people.

How does your role help people in South Tees?

Tees Valley Sport is one of 43 Active Partnerships operating across England. Long term, positive change can only happen if it is the result of collective action and common purpose.

My role is to build and facilitate partnerships with services and health care professionals in the local area with the aim of improving physical inactivity and not just through sport as our name suggests. We are aiming to support those who are less likely to engage with health services or are statistically disadvantaged.
